Whale AK1570 Mixer Valve Conversion Kit for Whale Shower Waste water Pumps

AK1570 Flow Switch with flow restrictor is designed to convert the Whale Switch Connect, Whale Automatic and Whale Flow Connect wastewater pumps for use with a mixer showers with hot and cold inlet feeds.

The flow rate through the pump may be increased from 8 ltr/min to 12 ltr/min by using 22mm pipework from the gulley to the pump inlet. 2 x 22mm equal straight push-fit connectors are included in this kit.

The Flow Restrictor can be used to regulate the shower flow and minimise gulley suction noise by matching the shower flow to the pump speed.

Flow Switch - Technical details:

• Fits 15mm pipework, the "C clips" must be fitted
• Overall length (mm): 127
• Arrow indicates direction of flow of water supply
• Use an earth bonding strip across the flow switch where earth continuity is necessary in compliance with BS7671: 2008 17th Edition Wiring Regulations
• Do not fit in the waste pipe
• Do not fit within 300mm of the pump or transformer

Fitting guidance to convert to 22mm pipework:

Waste Plumbing:

• 1) Use 22m Equal straight on 22mm outlet of the waste gulley
• 2) Fit 22mm Equal straight on inlet of the pump

Mixer Valve:

• 3) Fit flow switches to both the hot and cold-water supplies of the mixer valve (Order a separate flow switch Product Code: AK1568) if required

Flow Restrictor:

• 4) Screw the 10 ltr/min flow restrictor onto mixer valve outlet. When the Mixer Valve setting is selected, this flow should match the default flow setting on the Transformer
• 5) Screw the shower hose onto the flow restrictor. Ensure that the flat rubber washer is in place
